Happy New Year!

I hope you all had wonderful Christmas and New Year celebrations, even though it looked different, I am still grateful for health and another year to pursue my passions and enjoy life.

We kick-off the year with a Californian red wine.

Footnotes (Winemakers Notes):

Big and inviting, with flavors of dark berries, plum jam and notes of prunes. It has a mild spice flavor and delivers a taste that lingers and delights with chocolate mocha flavors and a lingering jammy finish.

Food Pairings:

Grilled Tuna, Grilled Swordfish, Peking Duck, Lamb Loin, Hamburgers and Nachos

Cheers to 2021 and Enjoy Responsibly

Eggnog

Eggnog is a classic drink over the Christmas holidays. It originated in the United Kingdom and is historically also known as milk punch, or egg milk punch.

Eggnog is traditionally made with milk, cream, sugar, whipped egg whites and egg yolks.

You can make it a home or purchase some from the store. Hope you enjoy some this holiday season.

Buronga Hill Estate: Shiraz

This is the first Australian wine I am featuring on the blog so I wanted to share some fun wine facts about Australia, before getting to this week’s feature.

  1. Australia produces more than 1 billion liters of wine each year.
  2. Although a wine leader, Australia cannot grow certain sorts of grapes, such as: Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Semillon. These are imported.
  3. The first wine production in Australia was in 1788.

Winemakers Notes:

This classic Australian Shiraz is bursting with spicy plum, cherry ad blackberry jam fruit flavours and complementedby fine grained tannins with sublt hinys of cedar and leather from oak aging.

Food Paring:

Grilled Tuna, Grilled swordfish, Lamb Loin, Venison, Caribou, Hamburgers, Nachos

Cheers and Enjoy Responsibly

Balderdash Brewing Co.

Their tag line for this beer is “surprisingly smooth, ferociously strong.” I give you Wiley Wolverine Strong Lager.

Brewer’s Notes:

This mildly hoppee strong lager delivers a bold 8% acl/vol, but goes down crisp and clean.

It packs a serious punch while maintaining a surprisingly smooth finish.

Cheers and Enjoy Responsibly.
