Fort Berens Estate Winery: Meritage

This classic Meritage is a blend of 68% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Carbernet Franc. This wine has beautiful BlackBerry, cherry, and dark chocolate notes.

Buronga Hill Estate: Shiraz

This is the first Australian wine I am featuring on the blog so I wanted to share some fun wine facts about Australia, before getting to this week’s feature.

  1. Australia produces more than 1 billion liters of wine each year.
  2. Although a wine leader, Australia cannot grow certain sorts of grapes, such as: Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Semillon. These are imported.
  3. The first wine production in Australia was in 1788.

This classic Australian Shiraz is bursting with spicy plum, cherry ad blackberry jam fruit flavours and complementedby fine grained tannins with sublt hinys of cedar and leather from oak aging.
